● Rotary switch is turned on (DISREGARD THIS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SWITCH)
Note: The rotary-axis and y-axis can be switched, if the rotary switch is turned on, y-axis will not moving at all, and the rotary-axis will need to connect the rotary device.
If it is “-”, please turn off to “O” and press the reset button on LCD panel, like below.
● Y-axis limit switch problem
Please open upper left hand door panel, check if the wiring and roller lever of switch are well or not, like below. (some of the doors may be held shut from the inside with a small hex bolt).
YOU MAY HAVE OPTICAL ENDSTOPS, PLEASE SEE HERE IF YOUR SWITCHES DIFFER:
If they both seem to be well, please test is the y-axis limit switch working properly according to the video below.
WE ARE WORKING TO RESTORE THIS VIDEO. SORRY FOR ANY TROUBLE. CHECK BACK SOON.
● The interface of y-axis motor have bad connection
If the y-axis limit switch is working properly, please open the laser tube cover, check if the interfaces of y-axis motor are connected well, like below.
Please power off the machine, then swap two drivers according to the video below.
MARK THE DRIVERS AND TAKE PHOTOS SO YOU WONT MIX THEM UP!
After that, power on the machine, check if the machine is resetting normally. If y-axis still not moving at all, so the y-axis motor is broken; If the problem shifts to x-axis, the same driver is flashing red light, so this driver is broken.
● Driver Direction wire of Y-axis is not functioning, only jogs towards Back of the machine
The
Ruida controller tells the driver when to change directions with a 0v
or 5v signal. If the wire is loose, not terminated, output broken from
controller etc, then the driver will only know to go one direction, the
0v direction which for the Y axis is to the back of the machine.
Ruida Connector, Y axis is D2:
Brown is 5v Common Signal
Blue is the Move Pulse
Yellow/Green is the Direction wire
Example Driver Connection:
(Your driver may vary but the wiring will match what is on the Ruida) Note the jumper brown wire, it is the 5V common.
Perform this Diagnostic:
-Power off the machine
-Move the Y axis to the middle
-Power
up the machine, but as it is booting up and attempting to home, press
the ESC button multiple times to abort the homing sequence
-Use the Up and Down arrows to jog the Y axis. If the axis only goes towards the back of the machine, then you need to perform the checks below
To test the Direction Signal:
1.
You can manually use a multimeter to ohm it out from the Ruida
Controller to the Connector on the Driver. Check both the Yellow/Green
and Brown Wires from the Ruida Connector to the Driver Connector
2. Check that the D2 Plug on the Ruida Controller is fully seated. Remove and reinsert.
3. Check that the D2 Plug on the Driver is fully seated. Remove and reinsert.
4.
Check that the screw on the Direction wire and Brown is tight and is
touching the metal ferrule end or not wire insulation for both the Ruida
and Driver connectors
