*If your WIFI internet IP is of the range 192.168.1.xxx, it is advised to change your machine to 192.168.x.100 and then manually assign your computer's hardwired connection a 192.168.x.101 address where the 'x' is a number other than 1 (generally a 2 works). You can find your ip address on your wifi by going to start, type in cmd to the search bar and the ipconfig in the command prompt, it will read out your IP settings for your wifi card.


*if your pc assigns an address like "169.254.xxx.xxx" that is an indication that you have DHCP enabled without a DHCP server, you need to set that connection to manual and assign an IP to the PC's ethernet connection
