Thunder Odin vs Bolt Laser Head Differences for Lens Swaps and Interchangeability

Preface: This article covers the physical differences of the Odin and Bolt Laser heads. At first glance, they will look the same but they are in fact not.


Y Axis Depth:





Bolt is around 40mm deep in the Y Direction
Odin is around 36mm deep in the Y Direction


Lens Opening:




Bolt opening is larger
Odin opening is smaller

Lens Tray Lengths:

Bolt Tray on top is approximately 26.5mm long
Odin Tray on bottom is about 22.5mm long.



What happens if you put them in the wrong Laser Head:


Odin in a Bolt:

The Bolt lens tray will fit and you will be able to tighten the knurled knobs and even get a red dot an a pulse....but the pulse and red dot will be coming out shifted, you will experience off engraving and cutting. The Laser head was not moved for the test demonstrated in the picture below.



Bolt in an Odin:

The Bolt lens tray is too long, you will not be able to make it fit in an Odin Laser Head
