How to determine if I have a "5" five pin or "7" seven Pin Rotary for my Thunder Laser? And what is the difference?

Preface: This article covers how to determine if you have a 5 pin or 7 pin Rotary on your Thunder Laser machine


These Machines ONLY have Seven Pin Rotary Ports:

-Thunder Laser Bolt
-Thunder Laser Odin 22 and Odin 32
-Thunder Laser Aurora, Aurora Pro, any and all version whether 1.0 or 2.0

If your machine Serial number begins with a 21,22, 23 etc meaning it is a 2021 machine or newer, then you have a 7pin rotary port. You can find the serial number on the serial plate on the back of the machine that will look like this:

Machine Ports:

5 Pin Rotary port:

-Has only 5 male pins in a pentagon arrangement
-Has a Switch for enabling the rotary
-Screw on connector



7 Pin Rotary Port:

-Has 7 female pins in a circular fashion with a center pin
-Push Pin to release
-Push in to connect, not screws on
-No Switch
