Free CNC Router Template Files – Cut on a Thunder Laser
These templates are perfect for adding creative textures and designs to your projects — whether it’s furniture, wall panels, tabletops, or even large sculptural pieces. And the best part? You can download all of Pete’s design files for free at the bottom of the article.
We’ve provided two types of files so you can use them however you prefer:
Autodesk Fusion Files (.f3d / .dxf):
Full design files that you can edit, tweak, and export if you’d like to modify the templates for your own use.
LightBurn Files (.lbrn2):
Pete created a variety of designs, each with its own creative possibilities:
Star Wars(R)-inspired sci-fi panels – great for themed builds and wall accents.
Hexagonal patterns – ideal for geometric designs and sculptural work.
Animal print patterns – add unique detail to furniture tops or fill with epoxy for bold inlays.
Tetris(R)-inspired tileable template – cut endlessly repeatable panels to create large-scale textures.
All of these templates are designed to be tileable, meaning you can shift and repeat them in any direction to cover as much space as you want.
Pete walks through the design, cutting, and testing process in his video:
Files are pre-configured for ¼" cast acrylic.
If you are cutting with a different material, you’ll need to adjust your speed/power settings in LightBurn.
Templates include screw holes for secure mounting, but you can also use double-sided tape depending on your project.
Test cuts are always recommended to ensure safety and durability of your templates.
If you use these templates, we’d love to see what you create! Share your projects with us on Thunder Laser’s social channels, and let us know if you have suggestions for future designs.
