Aurora v2 ThunderCAM Data

Aurora v2 ThunderCAM Data

The camera modules on the Aurora v2 galvos manufactured prior to on our about 9/7/23 shows a live preview that's flipped 180 degrees. This doesn't affect the overlay in lightburn as lightburn camera alignment will correct for that automatically, so it's just the live preview.

Performing the full lens calibration is not easy, especially with the flipped preview, so we have compiled a camera profile that you can import that eliminates the need to to a full lens calibration.

Make sure your preview in Lightburn is not inverted just to verify correct preview image. There were a few machines early on that required a firmware or physical cam module 'flip'. That has been rectified and should not be an issue, but it's a good idea to check the preview and make sure it looks correct. Its hard to tell looking at tapped holes or slots in a uniform pattern.

If your live preview image (not the static overlay, that's something else) is inverted please email support@thunderlaserusa.com for a firmware flash to flip the cam image on the cam module.

How To Use The Cam Profile

import the attached file via the Lightburn Camera Tab and then perform the camera alignment and  you should be good to go. Here is how:
The camera settings file is attached at the bottom of this article

Download the file

Download the aurora v2 camera settings file at the bottom of this article.

Import the camera settings

You can right-click the camera window in LightBurn and choose import camera settings, then choose the file you just downloaded

Do the camera calibration

Go Directly to the Camera Calibration, not the lens calibration (those values were imported with the file we just loaded) and complete the camera alignment procedure.

Be sure to backup your cam profile and/or device profile to reflect these cam calibrations. More on that here: https://support.thunderlaserusa.com/portal/en/kb/articles/backing-up-machine-and-lightburn-settings.
